    Programmes Community Care and Welfare Early Childhood Development Education Hospice In line with the vision of being a great business helping to create a better world First National Bank FNB views its role within the country as going way beyond that of a major player in the business environment A big focus for many years has been on adopting initiatives that will make South Africa a better place for all this is the work of the FNB Fund The FNB Fund is a significant part of the FirstRand Foundation and has the following flagship programmes to reflect its focus areas Community Care Programme Funding guidelines The Community Care Programme supports organisations working in the fields of gender based violence child abuse and youth at risk The main focus is to strengthen community initiatives that build social cohesion prevent social pathologies and promote equality The programme will work with organisations dedicated to prevention and early intervention research and advocacy and capacity building of community based organisations with a main emphasis on family preservation as outlined in the new Children s Act Application and reporting deadlines Applications for the Community Care Programme s current three year programme cycle 2012 2014 are closed However organisations working in the sectors aligned to the Programme are encouraged to contact us in order to start exploratory discussions All grants must be reported on in the format required by the reporting form below Please check your grant letter for the deadline of your report Download reporting form Early Childhood Development Programme Funding guidelines This programme aims to improve the quality of and increase access to early childhood development ECD services in the country The Fund invests specifically in the following activities Home and community based ECD activities e g playgroups home visiting programmes toy libraries parent support groups that help to increase access to ECD services for children Formal accredited ECD practitioner training to help improve the quality of education being provided at formal ECD centres and NGOs providing capacity building support to individual ECD centres in order to help them register with the relevant government departments thus improving the quality of the centre Application and reporting deadlines Applications for the Early Childhood Development Programme s current three year programme cycle 2011 2013 are closed However organisations working in the sectors aligned to the Programme are encouraged to contact us in order to start exploratory discussions All grants must be reported on in the format required by the reporting form below Please check your grant letter for the deadline of your report Download reporting form Hospice Programme Funding guidelines In understanding that the hospice sector in South Africa seeks to promote quality in life dignity in death and support in bereavement for all living with a life threatening illness the FNB Fund will look to provide support to this sector so that it is able to remain relevant responsive and resilient Limited quantities of Care Support grants and Training grants are available to qualified hospices further information
