  • Chairperson Noluthando Nyalela MESSAGE FROM CHAIRPERSON COLLEGE COUNCIL MR THABO MASOMBUKA King Hintsa Technical and Vocational Education and Training TVET institution is gearing up for extreme makeover As a newly appointed governance council of King Hintsa our point of departure into the 2014 2019 financial cycle is set on re generation and positioning of the institution for visible participation We are set for participation in the realization of the national priorities for the sector among which is to increase the number of students with employable intermediate technical skills by four 4 million by the year 2030 This specific mandate along with our priority task for implementation of good governance in accordance to the FETC Act No 16 of 2006 its Amendment Act Act 3 of 2012 is key It requires creative and innovative thinking targeting regeneration of integrated internal systems of delivery and as well as natured multi layered revolving partnerships with the private sector and statute organs of government Through this plan we articulate our strategy of creating a profitable working model for a rural institution Profitable in every sense of the five strategic goals of government These are Increase enrolment and expand access for the youth Increase the

    N courses at public FET Colleges to students who meet the criteria These bursaries are not loans The bursaries are administered by the National Student Financial Aid Service NSFAS Through the bursary scheme the Department of Education provides access to vocational education and training at public FET Colleges for talented students to assist them in the payment of fees The requirements for the FET Colleges Bursary Scheme are South African Citizenship Enrolled or intending to enroll at a Public FET College In need of financial assistance Able to demonstrate potential for academic success You can DOWNLOAD the NSFAS Bursary Application Form at www nsfas org za The FET College sector has a growing role to play in the provision of the intermediate to higher level skills required to support economic growth and development and the King Hintsa FET College firmly believes that these bursaries will contribute to skills development The bursary applications will be processed using a strict evaluation system controlled by NSFAS Additionally you will have to Provide all required documentation and evidence in full Complete an NSFAS agreement subject to their approval Who receives funds Successful applicants will have the funds paid directly to the College on their

    9 as a highest grade passed certified copy of id birth certificate and certified copies of parent s id or Guardian where applicable International students certified copies of passport study permit and evaluation certificate from SAQA were necessary Fees as per policy of the institution in collaboration with DHET Student Receives Application Form Bursary Form and CAS data Form Programme with steps for registration Check list Code of conduct Information on selection and placement assessment and dates Instructions to fill in biographical data Information Desk Staff members posted here must man an enquiry desk with full knowledge of campus offerings minimum requirements for courses etc At enquires desk students will be advised on how to obtain outstanding documents The enquiry desk must keep records of those they helped and how they have been helped Hostel Information Information about accommodation in different campuses Hostel rules and regulations Handing Application Forms The students may now fill in their final choices They will then approach the SSS with the completed documents Once the SSS has approved of the forms being filled in correctly the student may then go on to the registration process Administration of Psychometric Test One SSS officer explains the placement
