designers and product developers in South Africa Operating out of Waverley Pretoria since 2003 our capabilities have grown to include etched aluminium plates general etching and machining of small parts We are dedicated to simplicity To this end we have developed our own software to generate the necessary machining data from pdf documents All we need for a single sided board is a pdf file with an outline and the

can be etched Manufacturing time and cost does not depend on complexity Etch and Fill Pricing Photoplot Tooling R160 A4 Panel Usable area 170x270mm R440 A3 Panel Usable area 370x270mm R880 Example 3 A4 Panels R160 3 x R440 R1480 Small Plates Smaller plates are repeated on a panel and then cut apart on a guillotine These plates always look better without an outline You can put an outline in your design and we will replace it with small dots in the corners for cutting guides We recommend you use a Sans Seriff font for small lettering If you do so you can use a font as small as 10 points If you use a bigger font we can etch deeper The maximum depth of the etch is limited by the finest detail on your plate A good design practice is to use the same font throughout and not to vary the size of the font too much Up Close Here are some closeup photos On the left is the panel after etching and on the right after filling The depth of etch is limited by the fine detail of the swirls Less detail would allow a slightly deeper etch

  • C-Boards PDF Files
printing to fit page You should be printing to scale This is the most common problem If you are still unsure email your board The dimensions of the board cropped to the outside of your outline will be indicated on the jobcard Expect these dimensions to be larger than you thought by one outline line width in each dimension PDF Resolution If a PDF is generated by vector software eg pcb design software and not from a bitmap or scanned image then it will be a vector file This means that the resolution is very high and the file size small If you are using a pdf printer driver adjust the printer properties to the highest resolution probably 2400 dpi This may seem strange to set the resolution of a vector file Doing so ensures highest accuracy in the vectors and does not increase the file size significantly PDF995 a generic pdf printer It doesn t matter what software you use As long as it can print to paper you can print to a pdf file When you install a pdf printer driver under windows it is as if you have bought a new printer Instead of printing to paper

  • C-Boards Routered Boards
the router path as calculated by our software There are a few things which we can see here The grey rectangles on the outside have been put in as sprues so that the board is still connected to the panel during the rest of the manufacturing process The smile is not routered right into the corners This is because we use a 1 6mm cutter which cannot get into this

  • C-Boards Single Sided Layout
the writing will be mirror writing When the board is made the writing will be readable when you are looking at the copper Complete your layout Select compontents or make your own footprints Print and check your footprints Layout your tracks The red track is on the top layer and will be a link of wire It is much better to have a few links than make your board ugly avoiding them Zero Ohm resistors make for neat links Print to Paper and print to pdf Print the bottom copper layer and holes Check the scale it should be 1 to 1 In the picture view is looking at the copper so the writing is reading correctly Now print to a pdf printer driver Unix or Mac users can print to postscript Open the the pdf and print it is it still on scale If your pdf does not print to scale the most likely reason is that your pdf viewer is not printing 1 1 You can read more here PDF Scaling You can now submit your board Let us know how many you need Getting your jobcard After submitting your board you will receive a jobcard in pdf
